| Helensburgh and West Dunbartonshire Ramblers’ Weekend Walk Depart 9.30am (Walking/Hillwalking) Location: Meet at Helensburgh Pier in front of the swimming pool. Today's walk is the Callander to Aberfoyle section of the Rob Roy Way. This 15km walk has a total ascent of 280m, a maximum height of 225m and will take 4½ hrs. Sunday’s walk is to Beinn a’ Chrulaiste. The route starts along part of the West Highland Way, has a steep climb to the scree covered summit and descends by a burn to Kingshouse. Two walks have been planned. On Saturday the group is walking to Clach Bheinn, a fine hill located on the west side of Loch Eck. It is a pleasant, 4 hour walk and includes a short climb to Sir David Baird’s Monument. The 13km route is easy walking on paths alongside a river and through woods. The total ascent is 186m. Sunday’s walk is to Meall Dhamh near Glen Falloch. The 9km route has a long grass climb and then a trackless climb to reach Grey Height. Then it is firm, stony ground to the highest point on the ridge.
