Today's walk is the Greenock Cut and Dunrod Hill. It is a 12km circular walk on path and track with a short, steep climb on open hillside to Dunrod’s summit from where there is a panoramic view of the Clyde Estuary. Today's walk is around Meall Cala, The Mell, in Glen Finglas. The trail starts in forest, passes the reservoir and then heads into Glen Meann where it reaches a height of 600m. From there the track descends into Glen Finglas and eventually rejoins the outward route. On road and hill track, this 25km strenuous walk has a total ascent of 586m and will take 7hr.
