What is your best blag?
I used to present a travel show so First Class Flights to Boston and staying in the Ritz Carlton Hotel was a great freebie! So posh that there was a bloke in the lift 24 hrs a day just to press the button!
If you won the lottery what would you do with the cash?
A remake of the scene from Indecent Proposal, if Demi is up for it.
If you could be any musician or artist in the world who would you be and why?
Prince, took some time to decide, went with talent, he’s not the best looking guy in the world but he did score with Carmen Elektra, Sheila E, Diamond & Pearl, talent must win over looks!
Who’s back catalogue would you like to own?
Ikea.
What was the best present you ever got?
A lottery ticket….. so close. 2 numbers.
How do you like to spend a Sunday afternoon?

If you were a cartoon character which one would you be and why?
I already am bananaman. Just don’t ask.
You’ve got a whole day to yourself, what would you get up to?
I’d jump in a little plane and fly off to an island somewhere.
What were some things you and your friends did for fun as a child?
Built a den inside a hollow tree.
What was something you did that was really scary?
Lit a fire inside the above…… big tree burned down almost on someone’s house. Fire brigade called etc. Wood burns - who’d figure? I was 9.
What was the first film you saw at the cinema?
Grease. Stranded at the drive in…… branded a fool…. It’s been my life’s theme since.
What was your favourite subject at school?
In sixth year we had our own key to the Chemistry lab. There were many incidents, including evacuation of a building due to spillage of ammonia. There were also a few incidents using flammable substances. Fire blankets work, you should always carry one if I’m about.
When did you first learn to drive? What kind of car did you have?
My dad taught me to drive when I could reach the pedals on a bus! I learned to drive the bus, tractors, and a lorry before I went near a car. Often think it’s because if wrecked, these vehicles were not my dads! First car was a Wolesley 1300, bought for £60 from the scrap yard. I drove it in the opening cavalcade of classic cars for the SECC’s first motor show!
What is the loveliest thing you've ever seen?
The runway when I had an engine failure flying in Florida. Beautiful.
What is your ideal date?
I like the 14 June, not too hot and often a breeze from the East.
What is your favourite time of year?
I love the summer, but then I love to see the snow too….. if only it’d snow in July.
What are some of your favourite things to do now?
I love to fly, despite my brush with the grim reaper, travel, cinema and I’m thinking of taking up skiing at Xscape ……
What do you like about your life today?
I am very privileged to have a job I love, vast amounts of income in a trust fund and a knighthood on the way. Oh today…… sorry. Just the first one.
Who is your favourite celebrity?
Apart from my Clyde 1 colleagues of course it’d be Natasha Beddingfield, very polite and a joy to work with.
If you could re-experience one thing in your life, what would it be?
I never look back, so can't answer. .
